SEALING OF DOBSON AND TAYLORVILLE STREETS PROPOSED
The Brunner Borough Council is to request the Minister of Mines (Mr McLagan) to arrange for a Public Works Department engineer to be made available to report on the proposed tar-sealing of the Taylorville and Dobson streets, as discussed with the Minister on October 2.
This action was decided upon at this week’s meeting of the council. It was also decided to obtain details from the carpenter of the repairs to be made to the Brunner bridge, in order to discuss them with the engineer. The Valuation Department advised that the total capital value of the; borough as at March 31 last was £233,138. A complaint was received from a Taylorville resident regarding an open drain in front of his property, and it was referred to the overseer,, to give early attention to the making of sufficient pipes to fill the drain. Notice was given by the Mayor, Mr W. Gutberlet, that at the next meeting he would m'ove to change the meeting night from the second Saturday in the month to a night during the week suitable to councillors.
