Forty-four Whales Beached Forty-four small whales ’ swam in from the ocean today and deliberately beached themselves at Crescent Beach. Florida, in an apparent mass suicide. Most of the whales, which ranged from 7 feet to 14 feet died quickly as the rough surf rolled them over in the sand.
