Sir William Slim Will Replace Montgomery
(Recd. 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 8. The War Office announced that Sir William Slim has been appointed chief of the Imperial General Spiff in succession to Viscount Lord Montgomery. Sir William. Slim commanded Britain’s war-time armies in Burma.
