TREASON CHARGES AGAINST ‘TOKIO ROSE’
(Recd. 11.20 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 8. A Federal grand jury today indicted “Tokio Rose,” the American-born Mrs Iva Toguri Daquino, on eight counts of treason. She was charged with being one of six women who broadcast over the Tokio radio during the war in an effort to induce war weariness and unrest among Allied troops. Mrs Daquino is the only one of the six who is an American citizen.
