“FORBIDDEN CITY”
DARWIN, October 8.
A report on what he saw in a “forbidden city,” in Arnhem Land, in Northern Territory, east of Darwin, is being prepared by Keith Douglas Young, the explorer, for the military intelligence officer in Darwin. Young has stated that the “forbidden city,” which is a freak limestone formation above the Roper river bar, shows signs of radio-activity. Today Young said that a five-day ride on horse-back was necessary to reach the area, and that though he was not keen to return, he would accompany any responsible and competent expedition. He claims that the area has never been thoroughly explored.
