Canterbury University College, with six points, is leading from Victoria College and Otago University (four points each) after the first day’s play of the New Zealand University winter'tournament, held in Christchurch yesterday. Canterbury was first in the miniature rifle shooting. Victoria was second in . the shooting and third in the men’s fencing. Otago was third in the shooting, and first in the men’s fencing. Auckland (2 points) was second in the fencing. 1
