TAX LIABILITY OF WIDOW ARGUED

WELLINGTON, This Day, Whether a sum of money paid to a widow as insurance on her husband's motor-car after his death in a motor accident in which the car was wrecked should be treated in the assessing of estate duty as a personal chattel accruing to her was argued in the Supreme Court today before Mr Justice Christie. The court was considering a case stated by t lie Commissioner of Stamp Duties who sought a ruling to aid in correctly assessing the value of the widow’s succession. Deelsion was reserved.
