DOCTORS INJURED IN KUMARA ACCIDENT

Dr Jean McLean, of Hokitika, received injuries to an arm, cuts and abrasions when a motor-car which she was driving capsized on the Kumara straight, in the vicinity of the Kumara racecourse, about 1.30 yesterday morning. Her husband, Dr Donald McLean of the Westland Hospital staff, and two other male passengers also received minor injuries in the smash. The party, it is understood, was returning from Christchurch and the accident occurred when the car swerved to avoid a ccw which was wandering on ;the highway. It is stated that there have been several accidents on the same road recently as the result of stock wandering at night. The car, the property of Dr McLean, was badly damaged, but, after receiving attention at a nearby house, the driver and passengers were able to proceed to Hokitika by taxi.
