BADMINTON ST JOHN’S DEFEATS HOKITIKA CLUB

In the first inter-club badminton match of the season, in the St. John’s hall, Greymouth, last evening, St. John’s successfully defended the Gunn Trophy against Hokitika, winning by eight games (221 points) to four games (149 points). Last evening’s matches marked the twelfth anniversary of the presentation of the trophy for play between the two clubs. To date u.c John’s has won the trophy 11 times, and Hokitika eight.
