This was decided at a special meeting of the board yesThe secretary( Mr A.L. Burk) said that though there had been a surplus on the revenue account up to the ?ea ended September 30,1940, from that date expenditure had exceeded income Mr Burk estimated that for the current year the deficiency in the revenue account would be more than £20,000. , .. Amon" the recommendations in Mr Burk's report, which was approved, were the followmg-Tug services and towage charges to be calculated on an hourly basis and overtime paid to the crew to be recovered- vessels to be exempt from dues at the graving dock and patent slip on Saturdays, but full overtime paid to employees to be recovered; no extra charges to be made lor cranehire but the by-law to be re-drafted to permit all labour and supervision, reliefs, meal allowances to be recovered; an increase in handling charges from 4s 3d to 4s 6d a ton, and storage to 3d a ton a week, with a'minium charge ol 13 weeks.
