MORE MURDERS IN MALAYA: FOUR CHINESE KILLED
SINGAPORE, August 16
Two Chinese terrorists yesterday shot dead a Chinese bus conductor six miles from Kuala Kangsar, in Perak State. A ticket inspector on the bus escaped to the jungle. The murderers left a note beside the conductor’s body, signed by the Malayan People’s Anti-British Army, saying that the man was “a running dog.” A European planter was twice ambushed by terrorists within a few minutes last night near Rengam, North Johore, but escaped uninjured. Armed guards on two other Johore estates last night repulsed terrorist attacks on estate buildings. Terrorists last night executed three Chinese at the village of Selumpor, near Segamat, in Johore. The first of the three was taken from a shop, tied to a post, and shot dead. The terrorists pinned a poster to the body, saying: “Executed by the people’s Liberation Army for being a traitor.” The other two were taken to a nearby rubber estate, tied to trees, and shot.
