FURTHER PARALYSIS CASES IN NORTH ISLAND CENTRES

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, August Two positive cases of infantile paralysis were reported in the Central Auckland health district today. They were a man, aged 24, from Epsom, and a young woman, aged 19. from Green Lane. Both were admitted to hospital as suspect cases during the week-end. Anothei suspected case, a 28-year-old man from Waiuku, was admitted to hospital A seven-year-old schoolgirl from Wellington was reported as a positive case of poliomyelitis today. The school attended by this child will be closed for a fortnight. The second case of poliomyelitis in the Otago district this year has been admitted to the Balclutha Hospital. The patient, a man aged 30 years, lives at Tokoiti, near Milton. The first case was that of an infant who was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital about three weeks ago.
