SKYWRITER IS ONE OF BEST YOUNG JUMPERS FOR YEARS

With three wins and a third placing in his four most recent starts over hurdles, Skywriter is headed for dress circle company as a jumper. On the second day of the Auckland meeting, carrying 9.11, he won the Panmure Hack Hurdles by three lengths from Our Gold, 9.6, with Montello d’Oro, 10.7, 12 lengths away. Raised to 9.12 on the third day, he won the Orakei Hurdle Race, this time from his stablemate, Morocco, 10.13, and Our Gold,, 9.11. the margins being two and four lengths respectively. Promising Trotter The Auckland trotter Gold Horizon showed great promise during the past season to win three of his six races. Kennerley. who trains him at Te Awamutu, Indian Wilkes attracted attention to his prospects when he won the First Hobsonville Handicap by three lengths from Cyone Man. which finished 10 lengths in front of Finale at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting last Saturday. By Indianapolis, the winner of three New Zealand Cups, Indian Wilkes is out of a winner n Marina, which is a sister to Worthy Queen.
