NEW POLITICAL PARTY FORMED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The New Zealand Liberal Party has been formed in Wellington, according to a statement today by its chairman, Mr A. J. 11. McClay, ol Wellington. A provisional executive was elected at a meeting last evening and this will form the basis of a Dominionwide organisation. Representatives from Auckland and Christchurch attended. Asked whether his party intended contesting the next general election, Mr McClay said this was most unlikely, as the first objective was to consolidate thoroughly. He added that it had been shown by a survey that there was a widespread desire throughout New Zealand for the formation of a Liberal Party.
