THREE AIRMEN BURNED IN STATION TEST
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Three members of the fire crew at the Hobsonville Air Force Station, who yesterday afternoon wore asbestos suits and stood in a tray of burning material, are today in the Auckland Hospital, suffering from burns. They are:— Norman Owen Marsh, aged 21. suffering burns. Francis Warren Cheyne, aged 20, burns and shock. M'urray Flynn, burns and shock. The condition of Marsh today is fair and of the other two satisfactory. The men underwent a test to accustom themselves to entering flames in fire-proof suits. After the flames were extinguished with foam equipment, they were found to have suffered steam burns. It is believed the suits may have been damp. An inquiry will be helcL
