Communism In Australia
A security report submitted to the Australian Cabinet says that there are relatively few Communists in the Public Service and that “no Communists are in key positions where they can commit sabotage—their rriain strength is in industrial unions.” The report suggests that the Communist Party in Australia has declined in number from over 20,000 to about 16,000 in the last few years. As a result of the report the Cabinet has decided to resist any move to ban the activities of the Communist Party or to have them invesigated.—Canberra, April 6.
