Flying-boat Sent To Australia For Tests
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. “If the Australian tests are satisfactory, all we need to do then is to carry out in New Zealand tests in respect of other machines.” This was announced by the Minister in charge of CiviT Aviation, Mr Jones, in commenting on an announcement by Tasman Empire Airways that one of its flying-boats, which has been modified since the recent “grounding,” would shortly go to an R.A.A.F. establishment in Australia for testing. The company was satisfied with the work done in New Zealand on the machine and the object of sending it to Australia was to ensure that it was fully airworthy, added the Minister.
