INDIAN COAL FOR NEW ZEALAND
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Coal for the New Zealand railways is on the way from India, the Minister of Railways, Mr Semple announced today. The Rookley sailed from Calcutta for New Zealand on March 16 with 8721 tons of coal suitable for the railways and is expected here in about a fortnight. This is the first Indian coal imported for over 20 years and will be followed in the near future by a second similar-sized shipment.
