The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today: — Situation: A deep depression is centred south-east of New Zealand; an anti-cyclone in the Tasman is moving eastward. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Fresh southerly winds, gradually decreasing; -weafthe'r becoming fine; temperatures cold with frosts in sheltered places tonight. Further outlook: Fair. The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 21ft 10in.
