BRUNNERTON COMMITTEE ELECTED TO HELP THE CHILDREN OF EUROPE
At a public meeting called by the Mayor (Mr W. Gutberlet) for the purpose of raising funds for the United Nations appeal for children of Europe, there was a small attendance of residents. A committee was formed and another meeting will be called at a later date. The town clerk (Mr F. Elliott) was appointed secretary-treasurer. Miners and business people will be requested to donate one day’s pay or profit for the appeal. PRESENTATION On Saturday evening the Brunner Old Boys and combined sports committees entertained the women’s committee in the Taylorville pavilion at a social. Miss Watson was accompanist. Opportunity was taken to present Mr and Mrs Neame (who are leaving the district) with a gift from the sports committee.
