DEPUTIES MAKE PROGRESS WITH AUSTRIAN TREATY
(Rec. 2 p.m.) LONDON, April 5. With agreement in principle on three machinery clauses in connection with the disposal and exploration of oil in Eastern Austria—an agreement involving substantial concessions by both the Russians and Western Powers—the Foreign Ministers’ denudes discussing former German assets in Austria made progress for the first time in many weeks. ~ ~ . It was stated after the meeting that the agreement indicated the general desire to reach an Austrian settlement.
