SUCCESSFUL YEAR REPORTED BY COMPETITIONS BODY
The past year had been ,a successful one and the society was in a sound financial position, reported the president, Mr M. ,B. Charteris, at the annual meeting of the Greymouth Competition Society last evening. The balance sheet, presented by the secretary-treasurer, Mr J- A. McAlister, was adopted. The following officers were electea: President, Mr Charteris; vice-presi-dents the Revs T. G. Campbell and K. G. Aubrey; committee, Mesdames M. Nott, A. Hartshorne, M. O’Brien, B. Frederick, E. Trott and A. Cleghorn, Messrs T. Hatch, T. Anderson, ,and A. Cleghorn; secretary-treasurer, Mr McAlister; minute secretary, Mr T. Anderson. It was resolved to ask the Mayor, Mr F. F. Boustridge, to accept the position of patron to the society. It was alsb tentatively decided to hold the annual festival and competitions during the August school holidays, but no definite dates were arranged.
