Some of the aircraft previously operating from Mangere aerodrome will, from tomorrow, fly from Whenuapai, where a former Air Force hangar has been taken over, and where engineers will, in future, make necessary daily inspections of the corporation’s aircraft that stay overnight in Auckland. Lockhead Lodestar and Electra aircraft will continue to operate from Mangere, except those that have a night stop at Auckland. The services affected by the change include the direct GisborneAuckland service, and the last northbound main trunk service each day. Aircraft on these two runs both reach Auckland late in the afternoon. The change will also affect the main trunk run to Dunedin each day, and the service to Wellington by way of.
