FOUNDRY WORKERS SEEK CAFETERIA
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The men employed at the Kaiwaiia workshops of William Cable and Company Ltd, attended a stopwork meeting at the Trades Hall today to discuss the provision of a cafeteria at the plant and improved facilities for ablutions. , The meeting, which was the outcome of g discussion called by the shop committee yesterday afternoon, decided to request the employers to supply the desired amenities and, fail" ing a satisfactory outcome, to raise the question with the Minister of Labour (Mr McLagan). ' Normal work was resumed after the meeting and the progress of the operations on the Wanganella at the floating dock was not affected. It was emphasised by union spokesmen that there was no dispute involving a hold-up of work. ,
