NEW ALLIANCE BETWEEN BRITAIN AND TRANSJORDAN
(Rec. 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, March 15. A Foreign Office spokesman announced that the Anglo-Transjordan Alliance, revising both the old treaty and its military annexes, was signed at Amman today. . ' Diplomatic quarters in London consider there is far less risk that local opinion would reject the new treaty, as occurred with the AngloIraq treaty. , , It is believed the new treaty provides for future Anglo-Transjordan co-operation through a joint defence board, instead of Britain s present rights to station troops in Tiansjordan.
