LIMITED MEAT SUPPLIES IN CHRISTCHURCH SHOPS
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Limited supplies of fresh meat will be available in Christchurch butchers shops tomorrow and by the end of the week it is hoped that stocks will be near normal. The deadlock which arose through butchers boycotting the Addington market because approved retail charges were considered inadequate to cover high prices at auction was broken yesterday afternoon when the Canterbury Master Butchers’ Association met to review the position. , , The president (Mr E. R. Blanchard) announced after the meeting that fat stock would be bought for butchers at Addington tomorrow. Committees of three butchers would buy in each of the fat lamb, mutton and fat cattle sections.
