OBITUARY Mrs Margaret Armstrong
The death occurred on Saturday at Dunollie of Mrs Margaret Armstrong, one of the oldest residents of the district. The late Mrs Armstrong, who was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland, was 84 years of age, and came to New Zealand G 7 years ago, being one of the early residents of Denniston and Millerton. For the past 45 years, she had lived at Dunollie. Mrs Armstrong is survived by one. daughter, Mrs Jacobsen (Nelson), and six sons, Hugh, Jack, Charles, William, George and Thomas Steele; also 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral took place today at the Karoro Cemetery, the services being conducted by the Rev. J. N. Lochhead, of Runanga. Mr William Roigard The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday after a lengthy illness, of Mr William Roigard. He was born in Denmark, 84 years ago, and came to New Zealand'at the age of five. He spent most of his younger life in the North Island. Later he was a loreman fo the Public Works Department in different parts of New Zealand. Predeceased by his wife some years a<w Mr Roigard is survived by two daughters, Mrs Albert Dense (Kopara), and Mrs Lasletl (North Auckland) and by four sons, William (Taurangu), Henry (Auckland). Dennis (Papakura) and Robert (Greymouth). The funeral will take place tomorrow at the Karoro cemetery. Mrs Sadie Miles The death occurred at Wellington this morning, of Mrs Sadie Miles, a former West Coast resident. She was J born at Kumara, but had lived for the ; past 14 years at Wellington. She is i survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs G. H. Russell (Greymouth) and ■ Mrs F. Gembitsky (Auckland), and two brothers, Messrs Richard Holmes (Upper Moutere) and John Holmes > (Kumara). The funeral will take ; place at Wellington. Mr Ernest Johnston The death occurred at Wellington yesterday of Mr Ernest Johnston, a former resident of Greymouth. He is survived by his wife, one brother, i Mr F. J. Johnston (Chapel street, ’ Greymouth), and four sisters (all of ’ Levin). _
