Argentine Charged With Exploiting Needy Europe

Tlie special House Foreign Aid Committee today accused the Argentine of charging needy European nations exorbitant prices for gram and demanded a firm United States trade policy towards the Ai gentine. In a report'on the extent to which Latin" America might participate in the European recovery programme, the committee said: The Argentine Government ■ prides itself on its. capacity for hard bargaining. It haw TCDC’clteclly indicated, lack of interest in‘sharing the task of working out a solution to Europe’s economic problems n ' ' The report added that, the high prices paid to the Argentine had. been “a major drain upon European re-, sources a drain which cannot properly be assumed by the United States Treasury.” '
