RUGBY FOOTBALL AUSTRALIA’S WIN AGAINST OXFORD

(Rec. 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 13. The' Australian touring Rugby team beat Oxford by 5 points to 3 in a game made scrappy by the overkeenness of both teams. All the scoring was done in the first spell. Oxford gained the first points from a penalty goal. The Wallabies turned on the pressure 10 minutes before half time. Emery sent Tonkin over after a scrum near the Oxford line, but Bridge forced him to touch in goal. Buchan crossed wide out a few minutes before half-time and Piper converted. The Wallabies were pinned in their own half during the first 15 minutes of the second spell, but rallied later and made several challenges without results. There were Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans in the Oxford side. _____
