Watersiders And An Examination Question
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Wellington Waterside Workers’ Union is seeking to ascertain whether the waterfront “spelling” question included in an examination paper at the Hutt Valley High School had been confined to that institution or had been presented to pupils at other schools. . The .union will P ro " bably submit its objections to what it describes as a tendentious, and provocative question to the Minister of Education, Mr T. H. McCombs, and there may also be a deputation to the Minister. The principal of the Hutt Valley Hi<>h School. Mr J. N. Millard, said today that the first he knew of the question was when he saw yesterday’s published protest by the. union. Until he had communicated with the unions’ secretary, Mr E. A. Napier, he preferred to say nothing more for publication.
