PICCADILLY INCIDENT
(Rec. 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 14. Yves Georges Harent, a Parisian artist, was further remanded at Bow Street Police Court on a charge of shooting Michele le Comte in Piccadilly on October 7, with intent to murder.
The prosecutor read a statement Harent allegedly made, saying that he went to Piccadilly. It was the first time he had seen the woman since she left him nine months previously. , He added: “I told her if she didn t come back to me I was going to shoot myself. She said she thought I was bluffing. I fired. I intended to shoot myself, but the gun jammed.”
