WHEAT FOR N.Z. AND BRITAIN

(Recd. 11.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. For two hours last night the Minister for Information and Immigration, Mr Calweil, faced a constant barrage of interjections at a suburban hall where he was speaking in defence of the nationalisation of the trading banks. There was an uproar when Mr Calweil said that at present Australia was selling wheat at 17s a bushel to Britain. When interjectors asked why wheat was being sold at 5s 9d a bushel to New Zealand and 17s a bushel to Britain, Mr Calweil said that New Zealand had provided Australia with many things during the war and that the Nev; Zealand agreement had been made before it was expected there would be such a rise in price.
