Constable A. W. Honey, of Ahaura. has received notice of transfer to >. Fendalton, Christchurch, and will leave in the near future to take up his new duties. Constable Honey has been stationed at Ahaura for the past 19 years. Guests at the Albion Hotel include the following:-—Messrs L. Maeder (Adelaide), G. Lunnon (Sydney), L. Gray (Timaru), R. B. Ruffle, N. H. Gill, H. Frost (Nelson), D. McKenna, Mrs .E. C. Winder, Mrs T. R. Oliver (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs H. V. Rumbier (Winton), Mr and Mrs Yearbury (Auckland), Mr and Mrs Wilson, Mrs M. Dyke, Mr K. Dyke (Dunedin), Mrs L. Newton (Bluff). The funeral of Mr Edward Treacy, of Turiwhate, took place, at the Kumara cemetery yesterday- morning. The Rev. Father J. S. O’Brien celebrated Mass at St Patrick’s Church, Kumara, and also conducted the service at the graveside. Members of the Holy Name Society formed a guard of honour from the church steps to the roadside.
