BRITISH LABOUR M.P. ACCUSED OF FRAUD
LONDON, September 23.
Six men, including David Weitzmann, Labour member of Parliament for Stoke Newington, are standing trial at the Old Bailey on charges of conspiring to contravene the orders for the control of the manufacture and supply of toilet preparations. The prosecution alleges that false returns wfere made of raw materials purchased by companies with which the six defendants are associated, with the result that the' Department of Revenue was defrauded of a substantial sum. Twelve counsel are involved in the trial, which is expected to last three weeks.
