The Burmese Constituted Assembly unanimously passed the Constitution Bill providing for the establishment of an independent sovereign republic to be known as the Union of Burma. Under the adopted constitution the Union comprises four units: (1) the Shan States; (2) the. Kachins areas; (3) the Karen States; (4) all the remaining territory previously administered by Britain.— Rangoon, Sept. 24.
