Linen Flax Profit
While linen flax crops of 1945-46 showed a profit, the remnants of the 1944-45 and earlier crops were processed at a loss, according to the first annual report of the Linen Flax Corporation of New Zealand, which was
being presented in the House of Representatives. A net loss of £1536 is disclosed in the accounts of the corporation for the nine months ended December 31, 1946. The profits on the ‘1945-46 crops amounted to £B5OO, but the loss on earlier crops processed last year was £10,036.
