Syria Issues Warning Of Arab Action
(Recd, Noon) LONDON, Sept, 25, The Syrian Government has cent a Note to Britain, declaring that in common with the rest of the Arab world Syria would recist to the limit any attempt to partition Palestine. •Reuters says it is believed the Note is a result of the decisions made at the conference of the ' Arab Foreign Ministers which considered the report of the United Nations Special Committee on • Palestine. Reuter’s Beirut correspondent reports that Fauzi el Din al Kawukji, a former Arab revolutionary leader in a message issued to Arabs through the press, said the Arabs were about to retaliate to the Zionist challenger. The Arabs would soon prove to the Anglo-Saxons that they were stronger and more 'beneficial to Britain and America. “It is time for serious action. Cease talking and draw your arms,” the message concluded. A Jerusalem message says that a 15-year-old girl walked into a jeweller’s shop in Tel Aviv and left on the counter a sealed envelope containing £6OOO worth of jewellery stolen .from. the jeweller early in September by members of the Igrun Zva'i Leumi.’ The jeweller had declared after the robbery that the loss would ruin him as the jewels were not insured. Five armed members of the Stern Gang today stole £5OOO worth of diamonds from a Tel Aviv diamond factory. Haganah members used mortar bombs and tommy-guns to attract the attention of the police when Irgun Zvai Leumi terrorists attacked Haganah members at Rehobeth. There were no casualties. Jews booed and jeered when armed youths and girls forced their way at pistol point into two cinemas and played Irgun Zvai Leumi recruiting records.
