The West Coast Hockey Association has set down the following fixtures! to be played on Saturday:— Women’s Matches. — St. Columba v Cobden, Recreation ground No. 1 at 10.15 a.m. (A. Lamberton and W. Newton); Greymouth v Trinity, Recreation ground No. 2 at 10.15 a.m. (G. Williams and R. Beckman); Runanga v Hokitika at Cass square at 10.30 > a.m. (R. Day and E. Newton. Bus leaves Runanga at 9 a.m.). Men’s Matches. — Greymouth v Sydenham A, Recreation ground No. 1 at 3p ,m. (W. Newton and K. Dash); Combined Team v Sydenham B, Recreation ground No. 1 at 1.30 p.m. (G. Williams and A. Lamberton); Cobden will play Westport at Westport.

On previous performances, Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago appeared the likely section winners, but Otago’s loss to Rangitikei, which gave a sounder team display, cost it its section, and the defeat of Auckland A in Section C has brought four teams level. Results were:— Section C— Canterbury 81, Auckland A 0; Eastern Southland 8, South Canterbury 0; Taranaki, a bye. Section D. —Wellington B 2, Akitio 0; Ashburton 1, Auckland B 1; Canterbury A, a bye. Section A.—Wellington A 5, Nelson 0; Wairarapa 3, Bush 0; Marlborough 3, Manqwatu 0. Section B.—Rangitik*ei 1, Otago 0; Wanganui 3, Rotorua 2; Wellington Maoris, a byei Rangitikei cannot be beaten in this section.
