AUCKLAND TIMBER UNION PLEDGES AID FOR BRITAIN
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A pledge to support the movement to aid Britain in her economic crisis was made by a well-attended meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Timber Workers’ Union.
The national secretary of the union, Mr F. Craig, said today that members considered that the timber workers would willingly work overtime, if necessary, provided compulsion was not used, and that overtime was worked according to the terms of the award.
The union endorsed the findings of the recent Aid for Britain Conference in Wellington.
