THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair To Fine
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— Situation: A vigorous cold front is moving off the North Island; an anticyclone is advancing across the Tasman sea. Forecast to 5 p.m., tomorrow: Moderate to fresh easterly winds, turning south-westerly tomorrow afternoon; weather becoming fair to fine generally; tempertures cold with some frosts. Further outlook: Fair. Possession of Pistols . At Wellington yesterday Edward Hans Tui Benseman was fined £lO in the Magistrate’s Court for being in unlawful possession of two .45 Colt pistols and 922 rounds of ammunition. Sub-Inspector J. Abel said that the pistols were obtained from Americans in 1942. , Mr D. \Y. Virtue, representing defendant, said Benseman was interested in ballistics, and he had secured the guns for,.experiments. He was a keen sportsman and a scientific inventor. —(P.A.)
