ASSOCIATION NELSON ELEVEN TO PLAY WESTLAND
The Nelson representative team, holders of the Emms Shield, will defend the trophy in a match against Westland at Greymouth on Saturday.
The team is as follows: —Goalkeeper, Murphy; full-backs, Raven, D. Crowe; half-backs, Barnett, Arkinstall, Hurst (captain); forwards, McLay, J. de Fue, W. Crowe, Mackie, Latham. Reserves: Pahl, White. Mr Berry has been appointed manager of the team which is to meet at the Club Hotel at 1.45 on Saturday. The referee will be Mr F. F. Bishop and the winning team will receive its trophies from the DeputyMayor, Mr P Blanchfield. The Nelson team has agreed to a match against the Blackball club at the Blackball domain on Sunday.
The curtain-raiser to the representative match on Saturday, it was iesolved at a meeting of the Westland Football Association, will be between the Westland representative schoolboys team and The Rest. This match will start at 1.15 p.m. The referee will be Mr J. Timlin.
