LAWN TENNIS AMERICANS WIN BOTH DAVIS CUP SINGLES

NEW YORK, August 30. In singles play in the challenge round of the Davis Cup at Forest Hills today, J. Kramer (United States) beat D. Pails (Australia), 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, and F. R. Schroeder (United States) beat J. Bromwich (Australia), 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. The weather was cool, with a moderate breeze and a slightly clouded sky.
