LAWN TENNIS AMERICANS WIN BOTH DAVIS CUP SINGLES
NEW YORK, August 30. In singles play in the challenge round of the Davis Cup at Forest Hills today, J. Kramer (United States) beat D. Pails (Australia), 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, and F. R. Schroeder (United States) beat J. Bromwich (Australia), 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. The weather was cool, with a moderate breeze and a slightly clouded sky. The attendance was estimated at 105,000, which is 3500 below capacity. Bromwich and Long and Kramer and Schroeder will meet in the doubles tomorrow.
