BASKETBALL CANTERBURY WINS A GRADE AT N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS

The winners of the three grades at the Dominion basketball championships at Nelson, Canterbury, Tauranga, and Nelson respectively, each went through- the . tournament unbeaten. Canterbury, with 14 points, won the New Zealand Cup', and Auckland, with 10 points, took the Annie Brown Cup for the runner-up. These teams were followed by Manawatu 8, Hawke’s Bay 6, Otago 4, Southland 4, Wanganui 3, and Wellington 3. The B grade winers, Tauranga, hold the President’s Shield, while Waikato, the runner-up, becomes the new holder of the Hayhurst Cup. Nelson won. the Kiwi trophy for the third grade. The runner-up, Marlborough, will hold the Armstrong Shield.
