“Mein Kampf” as Evidence

Defence counsel in the war crimes trial of 24 officials of the I. G. Farben industries chemical combine, who are charged with major responsibility for the Second World War, objected to the prosecution reading passages from “Mein Kampf” on the ground that the book was written in 1925 when Hitler was a private person. The Court overruled the objection, adding that the value of the book as evidence had not yet been, ascertained. The defence could raise the question again if the trial'' showed that the case had nothing to do with the book. —Nuremberg, Aug. 28.
