Fatal Injuries. A fatal .accident occurred at the Road Services bus terminal in Hinemoa street, Rotorua at 7.30, last evening, when a woman was run over by a bus and suffered fatal injuries from which she died almost immediately. She was Isabella Dobbs, aged 48, wife of Mr S. J. Dobbs, Ngongotaha. Mrs Dobbs, with her husband and daughter, had come to town in their car which was parked only a few yards away. She crossed the road on an errand and apparently was making her way back to the car when she was run over by a bus, driven by Mr R. E. Oil-Burning Locomotives The test changeover from coal locomotives to oil-burners has proved so successful .that it is the intention of the Railways Department to proceed with conversions in railway workshops until 42 oil-burning locomotives are in use. There are 17 locomotives running now, and it is hoped that there will be at least 26 working by Christmas, said the general manager of the department (Mr James Sawers) yesterday. There will be oil stations at Paekakariki, Palmerston North, Napier, Taihape, Taumarunui, and New Plymouth. Some of these are’ already operating. —(P.A.) Forestry School The New Zealand University Senate in Wellington yesterday agreed that the School of Forestry should be re-established under the University of New Zealand. The Dominion Federated Sawmillers’ Association was vitally interested in the proposed school, said the president of the association (Mr L. E. H. Baigent). However, if the influence of the State Forestry Service was in any way predominant in the instruction' and curriculum of the school, his association would not be in agreement with it. The Senate considered three courses —that the school be reestablished at. Canterbury, incorporated under Auckland University College, or established at Rotorua, where it would be independent of the university college.
