One-armed Golfers Drive
John Lithgo, who lost his right arm in an accident as a boy, hit a drive 30.0 yards. The drive—one of the longest drives ever made by a onearmed golfer—was recorded during the One-armed Golfers’ Society tournament. There was a slight following wind and the ground was very dry.—London, August -12. Wright Beats O’Toole Tommy O’Toole made a distinguished entrance to the Christchurch wrestling scene at the Civic Theatre last evening, when he succumbed to Jim Wright in a brief but brisk encounter. He gave a.s good an exhibition of punching as any wrestler seen here this season. Wrestling was all but shelved for the whole evening, but it was the brightest bout of the season.
