MORE NAVAL SHIPS FOR N.Z. IS NEW CHIEF’S AIM
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The hope that he would see more naval vessels at sea in New Zealand waters was expressed by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Commodore G..W. G. Simpson, at the presentation of prizes to the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club last night. Commodore Simpson said he had visited the naval establishment at Auckland. There was a good set-up for a well-balanced Navy for the Dominion there. At present, he added, there seemed to be payment on all the necessary- facilities without getting very much to show in the way of ships at sea. Commodore Simpson said it would be his endeavour to get those ships for the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.
