20,000 Women For Work In Britain

(Rec. 11.40 a.m.) LONDON ,Aug. 12. The International Refugees Organisation announced that Britain has signed an agreement to accept 20,000 women as immigrants from displaced persons’ camps in the, American occupation zone of Germany, says the Associated Press Heidelberg correspondent. The women, aged 18 to 50 years, will be employed in tevtile industries, hospital laundries, and as domestic or farm workers. They will be guaranteed the same working conditions as British workers, but will not be permitted to change jobs without the Ministry of Labour’s permission.
