It will be held in the meeting room of the Grey Electric Power Board and in the evening the visitors will be entertained -at a social at Harker’s lounge by the local bodies centred at Greymouth. The South Island Local Bodies’ Association was formed to further the interests of the South Island when it appeared that the North Island interests were becoming paramount and. it has met with considerable success, resulting in the local bodies of this Island speaking with a united voice on many important topics.

It was considered desirable that the association should meet in turn in various parts of the Island, to enable the members to become familiar with the different localities and their problems. With tomorrow’s meeting at Greymouth a meeting of the executive or an annual conference will have been held in every major centre in the South Island, with the exception of Invercargill, which has been fixed as the venue for this year’s annua] conference. 1
