N.Z. COUNCIL OF SPORT’S POLICY
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 11. The making of every effort to bring all major sports bodies into its fold was approved by the New Zealand Council of Sport as a policv measure at its annual meeting yesterday. Further policy objectives adopted were:— (a) A complete survey of sporting facilities both indoor and outdoor to be undertaken by the Internal Affairs Department in conjunction with the council. (b) The inclusion of a represents-
five of city councils on all provincial councils of sport. (c) Support for the Government in its recommendation of community centres as war memorials.
(d) To support and co-operate with the Education Department in its establishment of a chair of physical education.
The election of officers resulted:— natron, Dr H. Petit; president, Mr J. Meltzer; vice-presidents, Mrs H. D. Muir, Mr J. C. Kirkland; committee, Misses M. Armstrong, B. Rogers, M. Wilkins, Messrs H. N. Ballinger, R. H. Miles, D. T. Woodfield, W. J. Griffin, A. C. Kitto; secretarytreasurer, Mr K. A. Falconer.
